The Reading was rebuilt in 1999 and has been updated and improved in 2021. Providing a superb local venue for all types of uses, including social club and private functions, village events, parish council meetings and can be hired for any village event.

The Reading Room has been brought up-to-date with free wi-fi and internet connection, Audio Visual equipment, re-positioned and extend bar and installation of bi-folding doors across the back of the building to a paved area providing beautiful views over the water meadows.

The spacious accommodation is light, modern and airy. The floor is robust enough for any activity, from playgroups through to dancing, and for those summer days, why not spread out onto the terrace and enjoy a Friday night BBQ or a relaxing drink from the licensed bar

The Reading Room

The main room is 10.5m x 8.5m giving 89 sq M of light filled space complete with access to the terrace.

We have capacity for:

• 100 people standing

• 90 people seated as an audience

And we can seat 40 people at table.

Heating is provided for the colder months.

Widescreen television that can be easily connected to from a laptop.

And of course, the bar counter connects the kitchen for serving those refreshments and winter Friday night social club hot meals. As you would expect, we have a good supply of tables and chairs for any event.

The Kitchen

The kitchen if very well equipped and provides all the appliances you might expect, including an upright fridge/freezer, kettles for making teas and coffees, a microwave and a family sized oven for warming though food and keeping plates warm

We have a full compliment of crockery, cutlery and glasses to service your event.

There is a door separating the kitchen from the main event space during food preparation.

The Facilities

The Reading Room has a terrace, complete with picnic tables for enjoying those warmer days and evenings, accessed via the bi-fold doors at the back extending the room to an outdoor space where the social club BBQs are cooked.

External lights allow the space to be used in the evenings as well.

There is limited street parking outside the Church.

Access

As you would expect we have level access a disabled parking space at the side of the Reading Room and disable access toilets.
